SOLAR LIVING CENTER
Hopland, CA
VISIONING, NARRATIVE, STRATEGY AND DESIGN CONCEPT
Solar Living Center (SLC) is known for selling the first solar panel in the US in 1978. It is a 12-acre campus focused on educating the public. Leading by example, SLC showcases the newest and most effective techniques in sustainable design. Our role was to be the cultural researcher and program concept designer for this amazing team working directly with the founder John Schaeffer. We created a system that provided inspirational education, community promotion, and stewardship through action. SLC is a thriving green oasis alongside Highway 101. It was voted the #1 rest stop in California, which was recently sold to Flow Kana the incredible organic cannabis collective.
